Local Favorites for Last Minute Gifts
With the holidays in full swing, the most wonderful time of the year is running out of, well, exactly that. Time. Before you succumb to those lackluster Amazon buys, check out our favorite locally-owned Cherry Creek shops for last minute gifts. They’re sure to have something charming and chic, and your gift not only stands out above the rest, it supports the neighborhood’s local small businesses, too.
White Peacock
White Peacock is, quite simply, a haven of good taste and dreamy design. Named for the rarest and most beautiful of birds, the store carries everything a modern host or hostess could want, from crystal Baccarat picture frames to hand-painted Anna Weatherly dinner plates. In fact, many of White Peacock’s vendors are exclusive to the shop in Denver, making their selections highly curated and truly unique. We love the shop’s vast selection of colorful yarn dyed table linens, all of which are arranged on a brightly beautiful wall. And for gifts (especially the last minute kind) there is no better place in the neighborhood. From ultra-luxurious home fragrances, to tiny trinkets from the likes of Herend, Ginori and Moser Glass, there’s something for everyone on your list.
Show of Hands
We love this female-owned, locally grown art and gift gallery for so many reasons. A neighborhood staple for over 40 years, Katie Friedland’s store is chock-full of character. Every item is produced by small, artisanal companies and artists – from handmade soaps to quirky dish-towels, baby gifts and cocktail glasses.

Mariel
With a track record spanning more than three decades, Denise Snyder is one of Denver’s undisputed retail queens. Her Cherry Creek shop, Mariel, is the go-to for Colorado’s bold-faced names and their black tie attire with a dedicated evening salon that features a variety of exclusive-to-Denver pieces. Mariel (named after Snyder’s daughter) also plays host to the city’s largest collection of millinery and is the shop du jour for charitable events like Denver Polo Classic, Women with Hattitude and Latinas First. Also shop Mariel’s selection of everyday contemporary pieces, all hand-selected by Snyder at markets across Europe and the US.

The Brass Bed
The Brass Bed…oh how we love thee. One of the neighborhood’s longest-standing retailers, Rosella Louis and pals first opened their doors back in 1978. Today, her daughter Molly, and daughter-in-law, Olivia helm the chic Third Avenue shop. Indeed, The Brass Bed is the crème de la crème when it comes to home textiles and linens. Sheets, duvets, throws, towels – even shower curtains and robes – are all a part of the repertoire at the Cherry Creek staple where thread count is king. What you’ll also find, however, is a thoughtfully curated selection of gifts – from luxe hand cremes and candles to darling baby accessories. Pop on in for those last minute gifts that they’ll love.
HW Home
We love this locally grown company’s stylish take on interiors. Modern without being bland. Traditional without being buttoned up. HW Home strikes the perfect balance every single time. And our favorite store for home furnishings is also one of our favorite spots for gifts. From quirky coffee table books to posh body care by Zents – another local brand – to home accessories, soaps and candles, stunning glassware, and more, we love HW Home’s beautifully-curated gift collections.
