Greek to Me
Quality Branded, the New York City-based restaurant group behind Michelin-starred Don Angie; Chez Zou and more is bringing fresh Greek fare to the neighborhood with Kini’s, located in the former Of a Kind Space at The Clayton. The group, who already have Quality Italian around the corner,
Hearkening to its namesake coastal beach town in Greece, Kini’s is a new restaurant featuring light, Greek island dishes, approachable wines, and a cocktail list with something for everyone. The food menu is split into 6 sections – Salads and Appetizers, Our Dips, Raw Bar, Wood Oven Roasted Fish & Mains, For Two, and Sides – each highlighting classic Mediterranean preparations with a unique touch. The menu starts with a selection of bright vegetables and appetizers like the Shaved Vegetable Salad with Plums, Candied Pecans and “Broken” Pita; and Spinach Manti, the Kini’s take on spanakopita with Fresh Dill and Tzatziki. Our Dips include five signature spreads: Chickpea with Black Garlic Oil, Whipped Goat Cheese with Saffron Apricots, Roasted Beet & Walnut with Pomegranate, Ember-Roasted Eggplant with Honeyed Peppers, and Avocado Dill with Everything Spice. The chilled Raw Bar features crudos and shellfish like Oysters with Barberry Mignonette and Hamachi Crudo with Hibiscus, Raspberries, and Almonds. The featured menu section, Wood Oven Roasted Fish & Mains, highlights the freshest fish and simple preparations. Selections will rotate often, with options like Grilled Galician Octopus, Mediterranean Lavraki, and Langoustines. Each fish comes with choice of complementary sauce: Ginger Tahini, Spicy Green Zhoug, or Red Pepper Romesco. For Two presents showstopping shareables, including a Dry Aged Tomahawk Rib Steak from Double R Ranch, drizzled with Organic Sitia Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Sides like Roasted Baby Carrots with Cumin and Hazelnuts and Crispy Brussels with Greek Honey offer a few additional bites to round out any meal.
Kini’s cocktail menu echoes the kitchen’s Greek inspiration with light, refreshing drinks. Highlights include the Sumac Spritz, a blend of Prosecco, Grapefruit and Housemade Sumac Liqueur; Yacht Water, a spicy, refreshing riff on a tequila highball; and the Cherry Crete, made with Bourbon, Cherry, Lemon, and Mastiha, a Greek island liqueur made from the resin of Mastic trees. The wine list features exciting winemakers from throughout the Mediterranean region, with a specific focus on the local varietals of the islands of Greece, the Riviera and the Iberian Peninsula. The addition of crowd-pleasers from California, Italy, and France ensure that everyone has a bottle to enjoy.
