If this was a movie, you’d half expect to see zombies or Woody Harrelson hunting zombies but, sadly, this was the COVID-19 reality a year ago. The President and CEO of Cherry Creek North Business Improvement District (BID) might have taken his chances with the undead versus the stark wakeup call that eerily whispered through the silence of the empty neighborhood streets – life, at this startling moment, had stopped. Stores and businesses closed. Hotels shut down. Restaurants were on life support. “You’re accustomed to a neighborhood with a lot of activity and foot traffic and people engaging with one another. Suddenly it was gone.”
