The French Connection

It’s an iconic, legendary restaurant with only six, carefully selected locations in America, and we’ve got one right here in Cherry Creek North.

Le Bilboquet.

It’s a brand built on high expectations.

So…when the award-winning French establishment on the corner of St. Paul Street and East 3rd Avenue was going through an extensive renovation and are in need of the perfect execution and collection of fabric, drapes, and accessories, The Woven Window here in Denver gets the call.

Victoria Rodgers, Brand Creativity and Operations Lead, walks us through the dynamics and intricacies of this very special project.

It’s quite the compliment to have Le Bilboquet reach out to you for this task. What was the process in working with them?

It was truly an honor. Le Bilboquet is such a well-respected and iconic name. We were contacted roughly three weeks before their grand re-opening with a tight timeline and a clear vision. They had been struggling to find a workroom that could meet their deadline, and we were thrilled to step in.

Throughout the project, we collaborated closely with one of the co-owners via video calls to finalize fabric selections, align on the design direction, and schedule on-site measurements. Once the details were finalized, we moved swiftly into production. Despite the quick turnaround, everything was installed just in time for their opening. It was a true team effort!

The Fleur Room

This type of work is obviously right in The Woven Window’s wheelhouse. What are you responsible for on your end?

We handled the fabrication and installation of nine custom drapery panels with hardware, as well as eight decorative bolster pillows, all designed to elevate the ambiance of the restaurant’s private lounges. These finishing touches brought warmth and refinement to an already beautiful space.

What do most people not understand about a project like this?

People often don’t realize how much coordination and expertise a project like this requires especially on a compressed timeline. A typical lead time for custom work of this scale is six-to-eight weeks. We had less than half of that, which meant every team member needed to be laser-focused and proactive from day one.

We also had to make smart, informed decisions about materials – only sourcing fabrics and hardware that aligned with the timeline and would arrive within the first two weeks, leaving just one week for fabrication. Every detail was meticulously choreographed, and it was a true collaboration between our team and the incredible team at Le Bilboquet.

How was this project different from others?

Aside from the tight timeline, what set this project apart were the elevated design elements including color blocking and contrast stitching that added a layer of sophistication and creativity. It’s not every day that we get to push the boundaries of design in such a collaborative, fast-paced setting, so this one was particularly exciting for our team.

What was your favorite part of this?

The challenge! We’re deeply experienced in our craft, but we also love opportunities to stretch ourselves. This project pushed us creatively, logistically, and professionally, and watching it all come together so beautifully was incredibly rewarding. It reminded us how adaptable and capable our team is, and it gave us an opportunity to grow in all the best ways.
